Golf Program Expands and Adds Full Swing!

Exciting news from the Vega Landsports Dept—a new golf driving range and hitting bays are officially opening this summer and ready for action! One of the many winter projects the team at camp took on, led by Camp Vega Grounds Foreman Dan Macomber, cleared out space and leveled the field a bit between the lower soccer field and the archery range. They then added a golf net 100 feet wide and 40 feet tall to make sure too many golf balls don’t get lost!

Back in 2011, when this picture was taken, some campers elected to make occasional trips to Tee’s Golf, which was about 30 minutes away. Now girls can improve their golf game much more easily on camp!

But that’s not all. We’re also introducing a game-changing piece of technology to the program: the Full Swing Golf kit. Set up right at the outdoor range, this state-of-the-art system allows campers to track their ball speed, launch angle, distance, and more—all in real time. It’s the same professional-grade equipment used by top athletes, now available for campers to learn, train, and have fun with measurable progress.

Whether a camper is swinging a club for the first time or looking to take their game to the next level this summer at camp, our expanded golf program offers something for everyone. With personalized instruction and now enhanced data and feedback, the golf experience at camp is more dynamic and engaging than ever. If you/your daughter would like to take some swings, the opportunity will be available if Landsports is on your schedule. We can’t wait to see campers step up to the tee, feel that satisfying connection with the ball, and maybe even hit their longest drive yet. The Vega Range is open—let’s play!
