Week One Video, Week Two Recap
Time truly flies when you’re having fun, as we have already entered our second week of
camp!!!
This week marked some of the highlights of the campers’ summer which included the
Olympics and of course, 4th of July. However, before we get into it, make sure to go and
check what went on in the week one video.
To wrap up week two, we have put together some of the highlights from the girls’ second week at camp. We cannot wait to share them with you so let’s begin.
Camp Olympics: Swim Relay and Senior Airband.
Starting off strong with the Sub Junior and Junior swim relay where the girls competed in freestyle and backstroke, while wearing hats and putting on t-shirts mid-race. The girls gave it their absolute all, but the green team took the lead and are ahead of the white team overall. Next up was Senior Airband. Senior Camp has been preparing since they arrived for this moment and the hard work paid off. With impersonations of Kyle, Emily, and various staff, the night was filled with laughter, happiness, and focus as the girls competed to win overall through their recorded tracks, artwork, and choreography. All the teams did such an amazing job however it was the Tamary White team that came first in the 2024 Senior Airband. It is incredible to see how creative these girls are and watching them on stage and seeing how happy they are is what makes camp so special.
Celebrating the 4th of July in style!
The day the girls and counselors have been waiting for…the 4th of July. A day where
everyone at camp expresses their fun, crazy, and cool styles through their 4th of July outfits
and they truly outdid themselves this year. For some campers and counselors this may be their
2nd , 3rd , or 50th (shout out to Linda) year celebrating the 4th of July at Camp Vega but for the ones who were celebrating it for the first time, they truly were in for a surprise.
Breakfast featured chocolate chip pancakes, classic 4th of July music, whipped cream on the girls’ noses, and a 4th of July themed dining hall filled with red, white, and blue balloons and decorations. Next up was the ‘Great American Egg Toss’ where things got a little bit heated as pairs fought to be the last one standing. Some girls made it out clean while others made it out covered in eggs. The winners of each group got to skip the line at the end of the day Sundae Bar. After a fun morning in the sun, the girls got to spend the afternoon by the lake tubing and swimming as well as competing in the camper/counselor tennis tournament. After a long day of hard work for the girls they were treated to ice cream and an
incredible firework display. The fireworks were something to remember forever!
The fun has not stopped!
And if the 4th of July and Olympics were not enough, the girls participated in numerous activities this week including Intercamp sports tournaments and social events, Ninja Warrior, Crazy Gaga, Varna Stories, Scavenger Hunts, and so much more on top of their core activities. It has been a very busy week for the girls but like we said, the fun never stops.
