Construction on Pickleball Courts has begun

Linda and Michael’s “longtime wish” is becoming a reality!  

There were many moments throughout the summer when girls at camp would enjoy Pickleball, and often those moments would also entail a group waiting to use our one Pickleball court!  We are all excited to share that groundwork has begun on four new Pickleball courts, located next to the lower tennis courts. Sand Volleyball will be relocated closer to Landsports.

After receiving invitations to nearby camp tournaments, we knew Vega campers deserved the chance to hone their Pickleball skills. Camps across the country have embraced this exciting sport likely because it’s easy to enjoy and blends the best parts of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.

Pickleball isn’t just fun it also builds campers’ agility, tenacity, and athleticism through lively drills and games. Starting this summer, Vega will add Pickleball to the regular activities lineup, and campers will have the chance to join Intercamp competitions.  Paddles will be available, and campers may also bring their own.
