Week 6 Recap – Final Performances, Marathon & Final Olympic Update

A Grand Finale to Vega 2025
Towards the end of camp there was a whirlwind of activity, emotion, and celebration. Vega 2025 was no exception. We ended camp with a plethora of performances to heart-pounding races, all if which are highlighted in the Week 6 video (the last three days of 2025 will be featured in the full 2025 Video Yearbook, out this fall).

Highlights from the Week:

  • As always, Lazy breakfast brought a relaxed start to Sunday mornings as campers strolled in wearing pajamas for a spread of donuts, bagels and lox, and more.
  • In the Anchor Swim campers who had completed 50 or more laps this summer can choose to swim across Echo Lake (and sometimes back) a Vega badge of honor.
  • The Swim Intercamp and Horse show competitions gave our swimmers and riders the chance to shine against other camps.
  • The stage came alive with two musical theater performances: Madagascar and Shrek, along with the Dance Show, Music Show, and Gymnastics Show, each showcasing weeks of hard work and creativity.
  • Vega Halloween is a fun tradition with costumes, candy, and spooky fun for all.
  • Marathon brought an intense day of competition for the Seniors, Super Seniors, and Tamary age groups, featuring two elaborate relay races and a song competition. This year’s teams: Mario, Luigi, and Peach brought equal parts humor, grit, and cameraderie throughout camp.
  • A slew of final Olympic events including, Tug-O-War, Olympic Relay, and the Olympic Sing had the whole camp cheering.

Final Olympic Update: White Team Victory!
After weeks of competition, the White Team emerged as the 2025 Olympic Champions! Green mounted a strong push and won the Olympic Sing, but White held their lead to the very end. The summer’s Olympics will be remembered not just for the final score, but for the passion, sportsmanship, and unity each team brought to every event.

Spotlight: The End of Camp
The last week of camp is always a balancing act between savoring the present and preparing for goodbyes. Whether it was laughing over bagels on Sunday morning, racing in the Marathon, or pulling with all their strength in Tug-O-War, campers embraced every moment.

The friendships, growth, and memories from this summer will carry far beyond Echo Lake. Our gratitude to all campers, parents, and staff cannot be expressed in words – Yeah Vega 2025!!!

With love,
Kyle, Emily and The Vega Team
