Olympics (Color War)

Camp Vega’s Olympics is an all summer long event.  At the beginning of the summer, there is an Olympic Break, which is some extraordinary event that has ranged from creating a winter wonderland to an ice-cream truck! There are two Olympic teams, Green and White.  Throughout the summer, Green and White compete in various games and events that run the range of activities at Vega, from swimming to sports to the Vega stage and beyond!  Olympic events take place every Sunday afternoon (see on an example schedule) and during some Evening Activities. Olympics culminates near the end of the summer. The camper leaders of both teams are able to demonstrate one last time the true meaning of competition after the fun and games are over by showing gratitude for the experience and celebrating good sportsmanship above all else. Camp spirit and Olympic sprit are are huge part of Vega summer.  We ask families to please not send Green and White spirit wear so that the focus of Olympics can remain on the actions of the campers rather than what everyone is wearing.  We still show plenty of Green and White team spirit!
