Week 3 Recap – Funtown, Airband & Record-Breaking Races
Sweet Summertime Adventures
Week 3 at Camp Vega was a celebration of sunshine, spirit, and smiles. From spontaneous singing to the timeless Vega Classic, campers and staff filled every day with energy. Each age group had its moment to shine, with adventures both on and off camp.
Highlights from the Week:
- The all-camp trip to Funtown Splashtown, Maine’s Premier Amusement Park, brought thrills, chills, and plenty of laughter as campers conquered water slides, roller coasters, and snack lines with their friends.
- Junior Camp’s Olympic Airband took center stage, with bunk after bunk bringing impressive lip-syncs and dance moves. The Green Team took the win, closing the Olympic gap in style!
- Tamary’s Kennebec River rafting trip has floated it’s way to the weekly recap video, and they enjoyed the company of the Super Seniors at the AA Portland Seadogs Baseball Stadium as well last week.
- Sub Junior campers also got to enjoy a berry picking trip at a local farm—fresh air, sweet berries, and lots of laughter along the way.
Olympic Update – Neck and Neck
Week 3 brought a shift in momentum. With the Green Team closing the gap after Junior Camp Airband, the Olympic race is heating up. Each event, every cheer, and all the team spirit is counting more than ever. The energy is electric! We have a slew of Olympic Events coming up over the next few days: The Counselor Hunt, Olympic Clean, and Gold Rush. As Kyle says, “It’s Anyone’s Olympics, It’s Everyone’s Olympics!!!”
Spotlight – Sunday Morning Adventures
Following the cozy calm of Lazy Breakfast, Sunday mornings from Sub Juniors through Super Juniors rotate between tubing on Echo Lake, nearby hikes, and mini-trips like berry picking. It’s the perfect balance of relaxation and exploration—and a tradition that continues to grow sweeter each week.
With excitement from all of us at Camp Vega for Visiting Day and More—here’s to the magic still to come in Week 4!
