Week 5 Recap – Senior Trips, Interpalooza, Olympics Coming Down to the Wire
As the sun begins to dip lower in the summer sky, Week 5 brought a perfect blend of tradition, celebration, and spirited competition. From heartfelt milestones to energetic performances, campers were striving to reach new heights.
Highlights from the Week:
- The much-anticipated Sunset Circle honored our 6 and 8 year campers and staff with vests and jackets. This is a tradition steeped in Vega history and emotion.
- Camp was buzzing with energy in every corner. From ceramics to cooking to fine arts to flag football practices as intercamp competitions heat up.
- Our oldest age groups (Seniors, Super Seniors, and Tamary) headed off on their extended overnight trips. The Tamary trip to Montreal is highlighted in the recap video, with glimpses of city exploration and age-group bonding featured in this week’s video.
- Meanwhile, back at camp, the Inters took center stage for Interpalooza last week with a tribute to the boy bands of the 90s and 00s. Their show was full of energy, laughs, and impressive dance moves, followed by a well-earned after party to celebrate.
Olympic Update: Down to the Wire!
With just days to go, Water Brigade and the Sing Off kept the scoreboard tight. Both teams brought fierce spirit and creativity. As of now, the White Team is holding on to a narrow 9-point lead as we head into Olympic Relay, Ski Jump, and Olympic Sing.
Spotlight: Sunset Circle
This week’s spotlight shines on one of Vega’s most anticipated traditions: The Sunset Circle honoring 6 and 8 Year Campers. For girls who have spent six or eight summers here, it’s a moment of reflection, pride, and community. These milestones aren’t just about the length of time spent. They’re about the depth of friendship and positive growth woven into each summer. Whether receiving a vest or a jacket, each camper stood tall knowing they help make camp feel like home for others.
