The weather has been near perfect here on Echo Lake for the past couple days, and Vegans have been soaking up every second of it.
Monday morning started off with tennis, tennis and more tennis both near and far from Vega. The 10-year-old Tennis Team traveled across the Lake to Camp Laurel, the 13 year olds hosted Camp Laurel and Camp Matoaka, and the 15 year olds traveled to Camp Matoaka for their match. All three teams were victorious this morning, extending Camp Vega’s undefeated Intercamp record for the summer!
Campers participated in lots of exciting activities this afternoon. Cooks Corner smelled delicious all day, as campers were busy preparing their own homemade pizzas. The ropes course was filled with campers working hard to conquer many different heights and obstacles, and the swim lanes were crowded with swimmers at practice preparing for upcoming competition.
It was socials galore for Vegans this evening! Following an afternoon of primping, the Super Juniors headed to Camp Takajo and the Inters headed to Camp Androscoggin for socials, while the Seniors and Super Seniors hosted the boys of Manitou and Takajo, respectively, here at Vega. Tamary spent their evening socializing and knocking down pins with campers from other camps in the area at Sparetime Bowling Alley.
Our younger campers also had a fun evening in store; the Juniors made their way over to the Cove to listen to some Varna Stories and the Sub Super Juniors got started on some Airband practice.
The week is action packed here at Vega: more socials, Olympic Capture the Flag, and Birthday Banquet, plus the Super Seniors depart for their rafting trip early tomorrow morning. Can’t wait to hear all about it!
